I hope you all have a wonderful 2008!
Me, this is the first day of a new year in our new life and I have to say I am full of hope for this year. I don't believe in resolutions, we make them with all the best intentions but with no real plan or strategy to make them work. Instead I try to plan what I want to change or achieve and set out targets for them. My biggest plan for this year is to give up smoking, I hate the habit and don't know any other person who does it! So I have worked out a plan to work through it, all I have to do is stay focused!!
I am so glad that 2007 is now over, I never, ever want to experience a year like that again, I would never have thought the events and issues we faced could happen to me, the bottom of the barrel is a very lonely, scary and isolating place to be. We are now on our way up, a lot of wonderful things are happening to us as a family and individually so no opportunity is going to be missed!
Kirsten starts her first day at a girls art college on Thursday! We had a good look round before Christmas, went through the arts area in great detail as well as the other classes to see if they could 'take' her where she wants to go with her education. It is perfect. She had very good SATs results which is a major factor in being allowed entrance. She's nervous and excited all in one but I think she's going to love it. The dance studio is going to be permenantly occupied by her, I can see that coming!!
Charley goes to 4 days in nursery as of Monday, he is getting excited to see his little buddies again. He is a very funny, intelligent young man that is a constant source of entertainment in one way or another! He came out of his room fully dressed this morning, trousers back to front, t-shirt on and two jumpers, he carried his coat and struggled with his wellies. I watched wondering what was going through his mind, expecting him to want to go the park he stood by the back door and said 'Mummy I need to climb the tree'. Hmm all I can say is i'm glad he listened when I told him it was cold out there! Lol So off he is, playing happy with Jake (the dog) and some of his Bob the Builder toys, digging up the dirt and building a mini mountain! I think the tree climbing got a bit tough when he couldn't lift his leg with all the gear on!!! Kids, don't ya luv em!
I have a few plans for this year, all are in the process of happening and going to make a good difference to our lives. I'm looking forward to it already! :)
So, Christmas, I hope yours was a good one, mine was very quiet. The kids were happy so I was happy, it wasn't like any other year but I knew it wouldn't be and thats ok. Now it's time to move on and remake my memories. Already so many good things are happening though so it's all good stuff.
Wendell: Thanks for you message hunny, and your emails. I have been replying to you but not sure if you've been getting them! Let me know eh? Get well soon from your operation, and remember...ask the kids to help ya!! :) Be happy hunny, life is way too short to to mull the bad stuff too long!
Enough from me, I have a heap of stuff to do before Kirsten comes home from her dads.
